Some of you may remeber the poster that launched the 2009 PTC Scalextric 4 Schools Challenge.Scalextric 4 Schools is pleased to announce that PTC has become an Official Partner of Aston Martin Racing and will exclusively supply the team with its CAD and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.

So just like in your humble desktop motorsport team, Pro/ENGINEER is used to not only create  the scale models at Hornby Hobbies but the Aston Martin race cars

Aston Martin Racing has been working with PTC’s software in recent months to help design an array of race car products. This new announcement will see Aston Martin Racing now working exclusively with PTC in the continuing design of the new awe-inspiring LMP1 (Le Mans Prototype) race car. Both companies will work closely together to push the boundaries of design and development through PTC’s Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill PDMLink solutions

2009 also marks the 50th anniversary of Aston Martin’s first and only outright victory at Le Mans, in the legendary DBR1, so this year has particular significance for the UK-based team.
